Karen Burr – Chieftain
After teaching for a very long time in Aberdeenshire, Karen came to Thailand in 2001 and worked for another 22 years in International Schools in Bangkok until retiring last year.
She joined the committee of the Bangkok St Andrew’s Society in 2011, serving as Honorary Secretary for many years and as Treasurer for two years. She also stepped in to keep the Society’s Scottish Country Dancing group going, assisted by others who could teach the dances. In 2023 Karen took on the role of Chieftain. She also enjoys travelling, reading and films. In her early years in Bangkok, she fostered dogs and cats, but some became permanent residents and now rule the house!
